Originating from Los Angeles, Bend
is a furniture and product design
house that creates inspiring steel-rod and wire chairs made up of
intricate, linear arrangements. The manufacturing of Bend’s decorative
products and objects engage a hand-crafted method of shaping and spot
welding - a process the company calls ‘bending.’ Each ‘bend’ chair is
carefully arranged to ensure structural strength, whilst the angles of
the back, the curves of the seat and the closeness of the wires are
designed to encourage relaxation and utility. Bend goods create more
than just chairs, their range also includes tables, decorative objects
and lighting. You may have noticed their amazing furniture in many restaurants and cafes around Australia, including Fonda in Windsor. I had the pleasure of sitting in a set of Bend bar stools at Fonda over the weekend (whilst indulging myself with their delicious fish tacos), and they are indeed super comfortable!
